Business Unit Overview
Operations: Our Operations unit is the engine room of Superloop - responsible for maintaining and supporting all of our products and internal technical infrastructure to ensure the best possible service to both our customers and our very own business. Our Operations unit is responsible for ensuring that the business has the technical capability and capacity todeliver services to all Superloop customers ranging from Home Broadband to International Wholesale.
ITG: Our Information Technology Group is the enabler of our information and connectivity systems that makes everything we do possible. The team looks after the technology lifecycle from when an employee starts to when they finish up with Superloop, including every system or application that a person may access or use while working for Superloop.
Role Purpose
The Enterprise Systems Engineer uses their broad knowledge across Linux, scripting and virtualisation to develop, maintain and support Superloop enterprise systems. While the demands of the engineer often require them to work autonomously, they are expert collaborators. Collaborating with department teams of network engineers, software and application developers, security, IT, project managers and project stakeholders. They rarely work with external customers or end-users but keep a “customer first” mindset to satisfy the needs of their internal clients.
Key Responsibility
Research and deploy IT solutions to meet our changing business needs and to improve how we operate - in technologies such as (but not limited to):
Public and private cloud hosting platforms (converged and hyper converged).
DevOps tools - such as test automation, CICD pipeline automation, build and release automation and complex systems integration.
Ensure all aspects of platforms are thoroughly documented and ensure these documents and diagrams are always up-to-date.
Assist in maintaining a large fleet of Linux and Windows servers across the world.
Liaise and collaborate with product software development teams in the provision, configuration and maintenance of development resources, systems and networks that support Superloop operations.
Create and maintain technical documentation for each development tenancy within the Enterprise Systems stack.
Participate in the on-call roster.
Qualifications and Experience
You find yourself at home on a Linux command line.
Sound knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
High level of scripting knowledge - Python, Powershell, PHP, BASH etc.
Understanding of virtualisation and hypervisors (especially AWS, Proxmox, VMWare and KVM platforms).
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, etc.).
Understanding of operating and troubleshoot firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, pfsense) and security policies.
Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with Azure and Microsoft servers.
Understanding of operating systems and systems administration (Linux , Microsoft, OSX).
Experience with manage enterprise networks, including routing, switching, VPNs, and segmentation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Strong organisational skills and highly motivated.
Experience with container and container orchestration advantageous.
Experience with monitoring systems, log aggregation and graphing tools advantageous.
Experience with networking advantageous.
